Sunday 26 January 2020. We drove to Eagle Nest Picnic Area in the Dandenong Ranges National Park today. It happened to be Australia Day, but it was relatively quiet, since this part of the Dandenongs is somewhat more challenging to reach. From the picnic area, which is very pleasant, we took Georges Track, Herman (or Hermon) Track, Rifle Range Gully Track and KC Track, then back again. We covered perhaps five kilometres. The bush was green and lovely. Access to the picnic area is via the Olinda-Monbulk Rd, Chalet Rd, Silvan Rd and Eagle Nest Rd.
